Getting healthy isn't just about a quick diet to drop some pounds. To be truely healthy requires some lifestyle changes. It requires a new mindset, new habits, a new way of doing business in the kitchen.
My journey to losing weight and getting healthier is still in progress, and I am still fighting to change my habits. I have come to realize that if I am still trying to make meals with the same old junk in my cupboards, this is going to be a difficult battle. I need to get to the root of the problem, which is making healthier choices in the grocery store, not just out of the fridge. I need to back up the train a bit.
So, my next step along this path is to clean out the pantry, and get rid of all those pesky temptation foods that I am trying to avoid. Its hard to stay on a plan when you haven't been to the grocery store in awhile, and all that's left in the cupboard is pre-packaged, high fat, low nutrition junk. Even if I have to do this one cupboard at a time, I am going to purge the junk and re-stock with healthy foods and ingredients.
